This post has absolutely nothing to do with anything I’ve done aside from walk into a Pier 1 store this weekend. And no, this isn’t a sponsored post. I was scoping my favorite stores for Halloween clearance deals and of course got sucked into drooling over the Christmas stuff. Duh. I was over the moon to find so many rustic and neutral options! And then the Pier 1 sales person told me it was all 20% for a few days. Oh boy.
I’m sharing my favorites because most of the items were fairly reasonably priced (especially with the 20% off) and since my obsession with all things neutral isn’t exclusive to Miss Frugal Fancy Pants, I know some of you will also swoon over these finds.
And surprisingly, despite my aversion to all colors fall (read: orange), I will always love traditional Christmas colors. My decor doesn’t work well with the traditional red stuff but I still melt when I see tartan plaids and flannel at Christmastime. I secretly want a second home lodge in the woods somewhere with cozy flannel plaid stuff and deer heads mounted on the wall (preferably fake ones) and all things Eddie Bauer circa 1990 and who am I kidding…all things Home Alone (the original and part 2).
There is also the coastal side of me married to the beach boy.
Whew. Mouthful. But you get me, right? So let’s move along…
I adore owls. I also have a love/hate relationship with traditional Christmas tree toppers. Hello, Owl Tree Topper! He’s even cuter in person and I’m pretty sure I have to have him.
I’ve become the lover of all things printable (err…free) but these are so peaceful and pretty! And worthy of purchasing!
I’ve also recently become rather fond of the trendy deer and moose stuff. Must have something to do with my southern roots, growing up with deer heads mounted all over the place in family members’ homes? I just thought this was such a cute way to add a little kind deer head decor…
I also loved this wall art for those obsessed with chalkboard fun…
I can’t get enough of these little guys. They are all over the place and I want to buy them every time I see one! I would love an entire tree full of these little spiky woodland creatures, burlap and that owl tree topper!
Um, hello gorgeous reindeer. I need a dozen of you to scatter throughout my house.
This was one of those better in person items. Totally looked like your grandpa made it with leftover scrap wood…the best possible way to make something like this!
I purchased a bunch of inexpensive Santa Keys years ago to give to my friends’ kids since we live in Florida and sadly don’t have fireplaces. The truly sad part was that I ordered them from Oriental Trading and they broke very easily. I still think this key idea is brilliant and may splurge on this one to replace ours.
Back to that lodge/cabin fantasy…
This star is so much prettier in person. I’m quite sure I’m incorporating it into our decor this year.
So pretty! They also had an owl pillow similar to this.
I am always torn between wintery decor for Christmas and incorporating our coastal theme. This driftwood owl made me giggle as it’s the perfect mix of my eternal state of confusion! A beachy woodlands creature!
And this wrapping paper is a must have in my craft stash! I’m already thinking of the many random things I can do with this stuff!
There you have it! I need to get myself under control before I make any rash decisions and buy every single item. And while I realize many of you may think it’s way too early to even think about decorating for Christmas, try going out to buy stuff for Thanksgiving right now and see how much you can find. #sarcasm Retailers do not cater to a reasonable time frame for normal shoppers. Sad but true.
Merry Thanksgiving? 🙂
